Nets hold on to defeat the Sixers

Nets came into this matchup 2-8 in their last ten games with a wonderful 3 game losing streak.  The team is under fire for their play as of late. Seven in the east and 13-12 with this roster!?! There’s DWill struggling and fans asking WTH is Marshon Brooks and Tyshawn Taylor?! WORST 3rd quarter team on the planet, and Avery Johnson’s ISO plays are NO BUENOoOoO. I have A LOT more of AJ criticisms but not trying to make this a rant. Days after that joke of an effort the Nets put in round 3 of the Battle of the Boroughs, they assigned Tyshawn Taylor and Toko Shengelia to theSpringfield Amor. They are back with the Nets after an amazing performance from both. Toko had a triple double, and Taylor had 32 points.

And to the game….

Nets responded well being down 12-4 in the 1st with a 18-0 run. The Nets were able to hold to the lead for the remainder of the game. Joe Johnson lead the Nets with 22 points. Holiday led all scorers with 24. They had help from the bench from Blatche and Watson. Gerald Wallace had 14 points and 9 rebounds   The Nets finally found a way to finish quarters.  Today wasn’t spectacular, just successful.  Avery adjusted the offense and it worked. The game was still too close. The struggles from the line near the end could have cost Brooklyn this W. But it didn’t.  They were able to knock enough down and hold on for this win.

Joe Johnson has been the man for the Nets averaging around 21 points in the last 6 games. Brooklyn moves to 7-2 vs. Eastern Conference opponents at home. Next up is Boston on Christmas Day. Coverage on YES is at 11:30am, tip-off at Noon.
